Self-compassion and romantic relationships

The more loving and supportive we are towards our partners.

This was the finding from a study of 104 couples, where self-reports of self-compassion were strongly associated with partners’ reports of caring behaviour.   Self-compassion was found to be a stronger predictor of a positive romantic relationship than self-esteem or attachment style.
